This is the last full week of vacation for local school children as school starts on Aug. 18. Some of the kids are in school as football, volleyball and cheerleading started practices, getting ready for the games. A football scrimmage is scheduled at 5 p.m. this Friday. Go support the teams.

High and low temperatures and precipitation for July 31 through Aug. 6, followed by the same for last year, were as follows: July 31 – 80°, 59° (71°, 59°, .05”); Aug. 1 – 78°, 49° (82°, 60°); Aug. 2 – 81°, 51° (81°, 66°, .01”); Aug. 3 – 68°, 61°, .14” (90°, 62°); Aug. 4 – 83°, 63° (88°, 63°, .28”); Aug. 5 – 84°, 59° (83°, 63°, .12”) and Aug. 6 – 82°, 60°, .61” (85°, 64°, .08”).
Total rainfall for July was 3.35”, compared to 2.44” in July of 2022.
Year-to-date rainfall is 22.03”, compared to 25.56” for the same time period last year.
