Phyllis Jean Warner, 83, of Baker and formerly of Maysville passed away on March 16, 2025, at E. A. Hawse Healthcare Center in Baker.
She was born on June 24, 1941, in Petersburg, the daughter of the late Carl and Mary Joe (Southerly) Wratchford and raised by her grandparents, Hugh Gilbert and Phoebe (Kuykendall) Wratchford.
Mrs. Warner attended school in Petersburg and went to Rig Assembly of God Church.
She had a talent for growing flowers and making beautiful arrangements for all to enjoy. She also enjoyed listening to country music and spending as much time as she could with all her grandbabies and great-grandbabies. She loved her family, and her caring nature will be her lasting legacy for her family to cherish.
On Aug.12, 1955, she married Lee Roy Warner who preceded her in death on Dec. 17, 2005.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory four daughters, Brenda Lamb of Pamplin, Virginia, Pamela Smith (Richard) of Capon Bridge, Catherine Ours (Rickie) of Moorefield and Carol Helm (Rusty) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; four sons, Terry Warner (LeeAnne) of Burlington, Gary Warner (Kathy), Randy Warner (Donna) and Roger Warner (Shirley) all of Maysville; two sisters, Shirley Ketterman of Petersburg and Delphia Cullers (Buddy) of Moorefield; four brothers, Larry Wratchford (Rosalie), Calvin Wratchford (Kay) and Steve Wratchford, all of Petersburg, and Elvin Wratchford (Sharon) of Moorefield; a sister-in-law, Rhoda Wratchford of Petersburg; 16 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Wratchford and Irene Ketterman; three brothers, Lester, Ernest, and Don Wratchford; a brother-in-law, Paul Ketterman; three sisters-in-law, Carol, Wanda, and Shirley Wratchford; a son-in-law, William H. Lamb; and three grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Warner and Gregory Smith, Jr.
A funeral service was held Friday at the Rig Assembly of God Church in Rig with Pastor Brad Taylor officiating. Interment was in the Cedar Hill Cemetery at Franklin.
