
Twenty-two Pendleton County youth showcased their animals at the State Fair of West Virginia held Aug. 7 – 16 at Lewisburg. Six of the local exhibitors captured top showmanship awards.
Tia Heavner earned the reserve intermediate goat showman and reserve junior lamb showman banners. Her market goat placed third in its class, and her lambs placed first, fifth and sixth in the market lamb classes.
Ty Heavner was named the champion intermediate goat showman, the senior goat premier exhibitor, fifth senior lamb premier exhibitor, and the seventh overall intermediate lamb showman. His goat placed second in its class, with his two lambs placing sixth and eighth in their classes.
Gracie Hedrick received the reserve novice goat showman award. She exhibited a market goat which placed fifth in its class and a market lamb which finished seventh in its class.
Maddie Grace Nesselrodt earned the reserve novice lamb showman banner, as well as the third-place junior premier lamb exhibitor honor. Her market lamb placed third in its class.
Adalyn Rumer earned the champion intermediate beef showman contest, as well as the reserve senior goat showmanship award.
Jaelyn Rumer came home with the champion novice goat showman banner. Her goat placed fourth overall as the middleweight market goat.

McKenna Hedrick — Exhibited market lamb; Aubrianna Holloway — Fifth senior beef premier exhibitor and exhibited market lambs;
Bella Hoover — Exhibited market lambs and market goats;
Breymann Keesecker — Sixth in market goat class; Kallie Keyser — Sixth overall junior lamb showman, fourth, sixth and 11th in market lamb class, and second junior sheep premier exhibitor;
Katie Keyser — Third overall intermediate lamb showman, fifth and seventh market lamb class and third senior sheep premier exhibitor;
Bailee Kiger — First place in class Simmental Solution heifer, 10th overall senior swine showman and fifth overall market hog;
Brynleigh Ruddle — Exhibited a market hog;
Kelby Rumer — reserve lightweight market goat; Lindsey Smith — Fifth overall performance steer and fifth in carcass evaluation;
Landyn Warner — First place in class with Simmental Plus heifer;
Aiden Whetzel — Fifth overall junior lamb showman, eighth market lamb class and fifth junior sheep premier exhibitor; and
Colton Whetzel — Tenth overall novice lamb showman.
