She was recognized at the 2024 “A” volleyball state championship as part of the All-Tournament team, as well as being selected as the WHSV Charlie Obaugh Student Athlete of the Week during her final volleyball season.
She faithfully attends the Living Faith Church and works as a certified nursing assistant at Pendleton Manor.
After graduation, Lizzie will be attending Fairmont State University where she has been accepted into the associate of science in nursing program with the goal to obtain her degree and become a registered nurse and will later obtain her bachelor of science in nursing degree.
Lizzie would like to thank her family for their unwavering and enthusiastic support in all that she does, her friends whom she loves, her coaches who helped shape her into the person she is today, and most importantly to God for the many blessings and opportunities that He has provided.
Salutatorian: Emma Hartman
Emma Hartman is the Salutatorian of the Pendleton County High School class of 2025. She is the daughter of Jay and Kim Hartman of Franklin and the best big sister to Spencer, Daisy, Hyrum, and Ruger.
Emma has been a member of National Honor Society for four years and served as a class officer for two years. She is an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This has presented her with opportunities to organize, lead, and serve within the church and community. She has a love for sports, but especially volleyball and track. She has been on the volleyball team for four years, and was a co-team captain this year, helping lead her volleyball team to the state tournament. She has been on the PCHS track team for four years, where she continues to work hard and push herself to reach new goals.
She has played piano since she was 4 years old. This exceptional talent allows her to find peace as she plays and loses herself in the music.
Academically, Emma always strives to do her best. She will continue her love of learning at Fairmont State University where she has received the Charles James McClain Presidential Scholarship. Only five West Virginia seniors receive this prestigious scholarship each year. She is majoring in elementary education and wants to help children develop a love for learning like she has achieved.
Emma is a blessing to everyone around her. She would like to thank her family, teachers, coaches, Ms. Sharon, church leaders, and all those who have helped her on her journey, but especially her dad, mom, brothers, and sister. They have been her unconditional love and support throughout her life.
