Grant Memorial Hospital has named Felicity Ours as its interim CEO, following the previously communicated decision by John Sylvia, president and CEO, to step down from his position to spend more time with his family.
Ours, a lifelong resident of Petersburg, brings both deep community roots and extensive leadership experience to the interim position. She began her career in public accounting before spending more than 20 years in commercial lending administration. She joined Grant Memorial Hospital’s leadership team in 2023 and currently serves as the hospital’s director of finance.
“I am thrilled for the opportunity to support our community and incredible team at Grant Memorial Hospital through this role,” Ours said. “I am committed to supporting the health needs of our wonderful community and look forward to partnering with John to ensure a smooth and well-coordinated transition.”
“Felicity has been a standout leader since joining the organization,” said Mark O’Hern, market president, WVU Hospitals East. “Not only is she a strong leader, but she has a strong commitment to her hometown community. We are grateful for her willingness to step into this role and guide the hospital through this period of transition.”
Ours will assume the new role April 15.
