The family celebrates the life of Margaret Marie Eye of Franklin who passed away on the morning of Sept. 12, 2025, at the age of 100 (almost 101) years old.
She was born Oct. 19, 1924, in Cave to the late Luther E. and Sally Mullenax,
Mrs. Eye worked as a beautician with her sister, Lillian Brown, before marrying John David Eye and settling down to raise four daughters.
Her family knew that they could call on her at any time for advice, or just plain help as they raised their own children. She was always active in church, working with the toddlers as a young wife and mother. There was not a baby that she could not get settled.
After her husband, David Eye, retired in 1985 as a professor of environmental engineering at the University of Cincinnati, they came back home to Franklin where they enjoyed a full and happy retirement.
She and her husband became members of Faith Lutheran Church where they worshiped for many years.
She leaves behind four daughters and spouses, Nancy Gant (Carl), Sarah Cobb (Craig), Linda Lotton (Don) and Patty Waid (Randy); eight grandchildren, who love her dearly; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on the Fourth of July 2026, in Franklin, at the next Eye family reunion.
Memorial donations can be made to the Faith Lutheran Church in Franklin.
