Carla Jane Combs, 76, of Brandywine passed away on Sept. 14, 2025, at Sentara RMH in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
She was born on Sept. 26, 1948, in Maybie, the daughter of the late Ruby Jane (Watson) and Ronald Ray George, Sr.
Mrs. Combs attended Coalton High School and received her GED from Pendleton County High School. She was a member of Redeeming Grace Church in Brandywine.
She had worked at Wampler Food and retired from Graham Packaging.
She loved her family, and her grandchildren had a special place in her heart.
Her husband, Scott Arthur Combs, survives.
In addition to her husband, she leaves behind to cherish her memory two sons, William Joseph Reilly and Dennis Lee Reilly, both of Brandywine; a sister, Linda Ryan of Franklin; two brothers, James George (Ruby) of Mill Creek and Ronnie George of Mabie; two grandchildren, Katie (Eric) and Holly (Chris); and nine great-grandchildren, Madison, Emma, Caleb, Evan, Jacob, Hayley, Lilly, Levi, and Layla.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Victor George; and a sister, Sandra Helmick.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin with Pastor Jason Boggs officiating. Interment will be at Pine Hill Cemetery in Brandywine.
