Lori Anne Wright

Lori Anne Wright, 60, of Seneca Rocks passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026, at WV Caring Hospice Center in Elkins, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on Friday, Sept. 17, 1965, to Jay C. Rhodes and the late Margo J. (Wright) Ostensoe in Fairfax, Virginia.

Ms. Wright was a 1983 graduate of Annandale High School in Fairfax County, Virginia.

She came to West Virginia in the mid ’90s and fell in love with the majestic natural beauty of the state that she would call home for the rest of her life. She worked for many years as a scalemaster at Greer Limestone in Riverton, where she retired in 2014.

She was known to be very easygoing and down-to-earth and to have a strong heart, a brilliant mind, and a beautiful soul, by all those around her. She touched all those around her with her exceptional kindness, love, care, and generosity, and she always helped those in need. Many in the family upheld her as a role model.

She had a lifelong love of travel, music, gardening, old Volkswagens, the ocean, and animals.

She was an active supporter of the American Cancer Society and attended many Relay for Life events.

Surviving are a daughter, Rebecca Wright of Dailey; a brother, Jay Rhodes (Sheli) of Dayton, Virginia; two sisters, Denise Wright and Robin Young, both of Manassas, Virginia; a step-father, Norman Ostensoe of Tucson, Arizona; an uncle, Gary Wright of Gainesville, Virginia; an aunt, Linda Beacom of Chantilly, Virginia; three nephews, Robert Luong of Manassas, Virginia, Jesse Rhodes of Dayton, Virginia, and Shane Rhodes of Rocky Point, North Carolina; a niece, Lauren Olson (Tyler) of Christiansburg, Virginia; a great-niece, Kennedy Olson; and a great-nephew, Grant Olson.

She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Jesse and Arbelia Rhodes, Vivian “Buddy” Wright, and Lois Hopper; an uncle, Ronald Wright; and a niece, Leah Garcia.

In accordance with her wishes, no formal service will be held.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society at https://donate.cancer.org.

Send online condolences to the family at www.the randolphfuneralhome.com.

The Randolph Funeral Home in Valley Bend has been entrusted with the arrangements.
