One of the most anticipated additions to the Fisher Mountain Golf Club has been the Top Tracer attraction that allows golfers to virtually play any course in the world. To help keep thirsts slaked, Fisher Mountain has added a bar to serve beer, mixed drinks, and food from the clubhouse.
Now all it needs is a name, and Waterfront Group has asked for suggestions.
“I’m really excited,” said Brianna Fleming, marketing specialist for Waterfront Group.
She shared that Fisher Mountain conducted a poll on coming up with a clever, fun, and appropriate name that reflects the tone of golf-centered excitement and fun.
“We did a poll on Facebook last week,” she said, adding that “we asked our followers to suggest a name for the bar.” Coming up with a name that fits the bill – err the bar – will win the person suggesting it a Fisher Mountain gift basket loaded with fun merchandise that the kids call “swag.”
Naming the bar is one of the first steps toward a full opening for the Top Tracer facility. Fleming stated that they have planned a “soft opening for Memorial Day weekend” with a grand opening and the basket giveaway in June.
“We don’t have all the details solidified,” Fleming shared, “but we’ll have more next week.”
Some of the suggested names reflect a more traditional tone, such as “The 19th Hole” and “Tap and Tee.” Another suggested “The Cracker Barrel.” “Shots and Sips” and “The Putter Pub” also were submitted.
Golf enthusiasts can pull ideas from a number of places. Fleming said that some of the more interesting ideas included “The Caddy Shack” after the classic, but ribald golf comedy starring Rodney Dangerfield, Chevy Chase, and Ted Knight.
Even without a permanent name, the facility offers Friday happy hours that include purchase of a large bucket of balls for a small bucket price.
Fleming stated that the contest and the promotions are “just to get more people out to enjoy the course and its amenities.”
