Effie Mae Harr, 93, of Franklin passed away May 22, 2022, at the Pendleton Manor in Franklin.

She was born on July 18, 1928, in Lynchburg, Virginia, the daughter of the late Julian Viar and Effie Kate (Lambert) Harper Viar.

Mrs. Harr was a graduate of Franklin High School and a member of the Franklin United Methodist Church and Franklin Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She had worked at the Half Price Store and retired from B&H Hardware, after 23 years of service.

On March 19, 1948, she married William David “Bill” Harr, who preceded her in death on March 15, 2005.

Surviving are two sons, Kenneth Harr and Dennis Harr (fiancee Charity Lambert), all of Franklin.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Bauserman; and two half brothers, Robert and Richard Harper.

Funeral services were held Wednesday in the chapel of the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin with Pastor Mike Loudermilk officiating. Interment was in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin.

Memorials may be made to Franklin United Methodist Church, Pendleton Manor, or Franklin Volunteer Fire Department.
