Donald “Don” Edward Harding, 92, of Angola, Indiana, passed away May 20, 2022, at Lutheran Life Villages in Kendallville, Indiana.
He was born to the late Harold Harding and Kathleen (Hammontree) Madison in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on July 30, 1929.
Mr. Harding graduated in 1947 from Will Rodgers High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1976 as a fighter pilot and went on to be a gunsmith for another 40 years. He was a member of the American Legion, Air Force Association, National Rifle Association and National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association.
On May 11, 1951, in Dallas, Texas, he married Imogene “Jean” Howe, who preceded him in death. She was a nurse.
Surviving are his children, Donna J. (William Wiethoff) Harding of Port Wing, Wisconsin, Michael S. (Martha) Harding of Angola, Indiana, Jeffrey K. Harding of Kona, Hawaii, and daughter, Linda (Eric) Benton of Jefferson, South Carolina; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at a later date at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Arrangements are in care of H.E. Johnson and Sons Funeral Home in Angola, Indiana.
