Debra Ann Simmons, 67, of Franklin passed away peacefully on Sept. 19, 2025, at the Pendleton Manor in Franklin, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on May 25, 1958, in Cherry Grove, the daughter of the late Annabelle Lamb and foster daughter of the late Ollie and Viola Kimble.
Mrs. Simmons attended Franklin High School and had worked in various positions throughout the community, including the Pendleton Nursing Home in recent years.
She devoted her time as a homemaker and found joy in being with her beloved family and pets.
She attended Brushy Run Church of God and loved her church family.
On July 4, 1999, she married Owen Byrd Simmons, who survives.
In addition to her husband, she leaves behind to cherish her memory a sister-in-law, Alma Mae Mallow (Paul) of Franklin; a niece, Cindy Moyers (Alan) of Bridgewater, Virginia; a great-nephew, Tanner Moyers (Hannah) of Verona, Virginia; two great-nieces, Gracie and Lily Moyers of Bridgewater, Virginia; a special aunt, Hazel Bennett; and special friends, Elaine Keplinger, Alisha Adams, and Kay Simmons.
A private graveside service was held Wednesday at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin with Pastor Mike Lambert officiating.
