Pendleton County 4-H members traveled July 15 to Moorefield Middle School to participate in youth day at the West Virginia Poultry Festival.
Kallie Keyser competed as a junior individual in the poultry judging contest and earned the first-place junior individual award.
Placing fourth in the junior division was Pendleton’s team consisting of Tori Heavner, Bella Hoover and Ross Pownell.
Pownell earned first-place junior individual in reasons and fourth junior individual.
Second place in junior reasons went to Heavner. She also competed in the Barbecue Cook-Off contest.
Another junior team, composed of Gracie Hedrick, Breymann Keesecker and Jonah Seymour, placed seventh in the junior division.
Katie Keyser and Branson Smith competed as senior individuals.
Taking a tour of the West Virginia Department of Agriculture Laboratory in Moorefield were Hoover, Keesecker and Pownell.
