‘Stuff the Bus’ Event Underway
Community In Schools coordinators are sponsoring a back-to-school “Stuff the Bus” event for all Pendleton County students. School supplies and personal hygiene items can be left through Aug. 14 at the Pendleton County Middle/High School parking lot.
Milnes To Speak On Traditional Music in County
The Pendleton County Historical Society will sponsor a program at the historic Ananias Pitsenbarger Farm (Jeff and Teresa Munn’s) on Dry Run Road on Sunday. A potluck lunch will begin at 2:00 followed by a program by special guest Gerald Milnes entitled “Traditional Music in Pendleton County.”
All are welcome.
Family Support Center Sponsors August Activities
The Pendleton County Strive to Thrive Family Support Center on Main Street in Franklin is hosting the following events:
Aug. 8, noon to 2 p.m. — Free back-to-school pool day, bring school supply list;
Aug. 13, 9:30 – 11 a.m. at the center (held second Wednesday of every month) — Grounds for discussion, bring the conversations and coffee will be provided;
Aug. 13, 3:30 – 6 p.m. — Back-to-school bash at Pendleton County High School; and
Aug. 14, noon to 2 p.m. — Free pool day.

Community Meal Scheduled at NF Baptist Church
North Fork Baptist Church in Riverton will be hosting a community meal beginning at noon on Tuesday.
Quilters To Meet
Sew and Sews Quilt Guild will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at Faith Lutheran Church in Franklin. Shirley Shank will demonstrate how to make a flange binding.
Anyone interested in quilting is welcome to attend.

American Legion Pendleton Post 30 will meet at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 13 at the Star Restaurant in Franklin.

VFW Post 9666 will meet at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 14 at the Richard Homan Memorial Park in Sugar Grove.
