Charles Junior Westfall, 77, of Franklin passed away April 22, 2026, at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg.
He was born Feb. 24, 1949, in Petersburg and was the son of the late John Henry Westfall and Louise Alice Alt Westfall.
Mr. Westfall worked in the Baltimore, Maryland, shipyards, was a logger and retired from the West Virginia Division of Highways.
He was a member of Living faith Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing and small mechanical jobs like repairing lawn mowers.
On Oct. 21, 1979, he married Lucy Marie Mattox Westfall, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Cheryl Lynn Westfall Heavner (Joseph) of Petersburg and Leslie Sturgeon (Mike) of Pennsylvania; a son, Buster Mowery of Franklin; four sisters, Dorothy Kerns (Truman), Barbara Koon, Wilma Cave and Patty Simmons (Lertie), all of Elkins; two brothers, Lonnie Westfall and Curtis Westfall, both of Petersburg; five grandchildren, Brian Mowery, Derek Mowery, Agena Waylan, Vanessa Mowery and Melina Mason; and several great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Charles Westfall II; a daughter, Marcella Sinnett; and two brothers, Jimmy Westfall and Marvin Alt.
A funeral service was held Sunday in the chapel of the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin with Pastor Brad Mitchell officiating. Private inurnment was at Oaklawn Cemetery near Franklin.
