Brian Jared Sites, 39, of Morgantown and formerly of Franklin passed away following a courageous battle with cancer on Nov. 18, 2025, at WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
He was born on Aug. 7, 1986, in Elkins, the son of Thomas F. Sites of Franklin and Melissa Mae (Teter) Adams (Kirk) of Headwaters, Virginia.
Mr. Sites graduated from Pendleton County High School in 2004 and Hobart Institute of Welding Technology in Troy, Ohio.
He was a pipefitter and welder for UA Local 152 Plumbers and Pipefitters, as well as a welding instructor. He served his community as a volunteer fireman for Franklin Volunteer Fire Department and Mount Morris Volunteer Fire Company.
He was passionate about the outdoors; he enjoyed hunting, fishing with his wife, family and friends on the Great Lakes and was a beekeeper, taking care of his many beehives.
He touched many lives and his legacy of service to community and love for his family will live on through his son and all who knew and loved him.
On Dec. 10, 2022, he married the love of his life, Courtney Dawn (Brown) Sites, who survives.
In addition to his wife and parents, he leaves behind to cherish his memory an infant son, Jared Beckett Sites; a brother, Thomas John Sites of Franklin; a stepbrother, Kyle Adams of California; a stepsister, Amanda Adams of Maryland; maternal grandmother, Rebecca Teter of Onego; a brother-in-law, Charles Patrick Brown (Valerie) of Arthurdale; and everyone that called him Uncle B, nieces and nephews, Wyatt, Eli, Lucy, Saylor, Marleigh, Reagan and Dillon.
He was preceded in death by a stepbrother, Garrett Adams; in-laws, Lewis Charles Brown and Susan Eileen (Decker) Brown; paternal grandparents, William John and Sue A. Sites; and maternal grandfather, Randolph “Randy” Malcom Teter.
His family will receive friends and family from noon until 2 p.m. Nov. 29 at the Mt. Morris United Methodist Church in Mt. Morris, Pennsylvania, followed by a celebration of life. The family will also receive friends from noon until 2 p.m. Nov. 30 at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin. A celebration of life will follow in the funeral home chapel. Pastor Sam Harper will officiate both services.
