This last weather event has really shut down the county. With the snow falling first and then sleet on top of the snow, the roads were not safe to travel. Now the cold front isn’t making it easy on the body. The groundhog will determine the fate on Feb. 2.
Due to weather conditions, no services were held at the Smith Creek and Friends Run Churches of the Brethren.
Prayer thought: “When we face difficult seasons in life, let’s cling to our hope in God and remember that He’s with us 24/7.”
High and low temperatures and precipitation for Jan. 19 through Jan. 25 were as follows: Jan. 19 – 35°, 16° (35°, 19°, 3.5” snow), Jan. 20 – 23°, 9° (18°, 1°), Jan. 21 – 45°, 7° (22°, -1°), Jan. 22 – 42°, 29° (23°, -8°), Jan. 23 – 17°, 3° (33°, 4°), Jan. 24 – 27°, 7° (32°, 13°) and Jan. 25 – 21°, 8°, 4” snow plus ice (41°, 7°).
