To celebrate the State Fair of West Virginia, 10 Best of Show 4-H exhibits made by WV 4-H’ers were showcased. Three local 4-H’ers, Alex Adams and Roscoe Pownell of Franklin and Cady Mitchell of Upper Tract, were awarded Best of Show ribbons.
Adams created a wildflower bouquet using native West Virginia flowers for his wildflower project. Pownell’s “Know Your State” project featured a collage display with iconic West Virginia landmarks and state icons.
For Mitchell’s “Exploring 4-H, Your Family, the World, or the Arts” project, she used tufted yarn to design a fiber art piece of an outline of West Virginia with a mountain background and a 4-H clover in the foreground.
