During the month of June, the West Virginia Department of Tourism added seven new Almost Heaven swings to the Mountain State: Cedar Lakes Conference Center in Jackson County, Charles Fork Lake in Roane County, Drawdy Falls in Boone County, Miracle Mountain in McDowell County, 4-H Camp Pioneer in Randolph County, Big Ditch Lake in Webster County and Tater Hill Overlook in Wyoming County.
There are now 43 Almost Heaven photo-op swings available throughout the state, making it easy for travelers to snag a picture-perfect photo during their summer travels. Travelers are encouraged to share their photos on social media using #AlmostHeaven.
“There continues to be an outpouring of interest and excitement in our locally-crafted Almost Heaven swings,” said Chelsea Ruby, West Virginia Department of Tourism secretary. “West Virginia is home to the most beautiful landscapes, and I invite travelers to experience a screen-free summer in Almost Heaven. It’s not too late to plan your mountain escape!”
Additional Almost Heaven swings are located at Babcock State Park, Blackwater Falls State Park, Blennerhassett Island Historical State Park, Bluestone State Park, Buffalo Mountain Trail System, Cacapon Resort State Park, Canaan Valley Resort State Park, Charleston, Chief Logan State Park, Cooper Rock State Forest, Droop Mountain Battlefield State Park, East River Mountain Overlook, Gassaway Depot, Grand Vue Park, Lake Stephens, Lost River State Park, Mason-Dixon Historical Park, Oglebay Park Resort, Philippi Covered Bridges, Pipestem Resort State Park, Rail Explorers Depot, Resort at Glade Springs, Rockhouse Trail System, Rotary Park, Snowshoe Mountain, Sportsman’s Park in Wirt County, Stonewall Resort State Park, Summersville Lake State Park, Tamarack Marketplace, Tomlinson Run State Park, Tu-Endie-Wei State Park, Tygart Lake State Park, Valley Falls State Park, Valley Park, West Virginia State Capitol and Wheeling Heritage Port.
