
For the third time in history, the state math poster contest winner is from Pendleton County High School.
Laney Sites-Woods won with her poster themed “Math Will Take You Far.” Her theme will be the theme for next year’s state math conference. She will receive a $100 gift card, as well as a banner that will be hung at the entrance to next year’s conference.
Pendleton County High School also had two other finalists that each received a $20 gift card. Kaylee Simmons’ poster was titled “Math: It is all fun and games until someone divides by zero.” Emma Hartman’s entry was “Soar to New Heights with Math.”
Franklin Elementary School also had two winners. Mia Dudley, a third-grade student, and Layla Dudley, kindergarten student, both received third place. Both received a $20 gift card.
