School Employees Honored at Annual Banquet

The Attendance Cup is presented to Lori Moore, principal at Franklin Elementary School, by Charles Hedrick, superintendent of Pendleton County Schools.

The Pendleton County School Board held its annual retirement/personnel dinner and awards ceremony June 11 at the South Fork Ruritan Building.

Amy Rexrode, Title 1 teacher at Franklin Elementary School, was honored as the 2023-2024 Pendleton County Teacher of the Year.

Earning the 2023-2024 Pendleton County Service Personnel of the Year award was Jimmy Waybright, a bus driver.

Teachers of the Year and Service Personnel of the Year were selected at each school and department. The following were recognized.

Brandywine Elementary — Donita Kimble (teacher) and Cindy Rexrode (service personnel);

Franklin Elementary — Amy Rexrode (teacher) and Heather Copley (service personnel);

North Fork Elementary — Angie Cooper (teacher) and Haley Harper (service personnel);

Pendleton County Middle/High School — Derek Hinkle (teacher) and Shannon Hartman (service personnel);

Bus garage — Jimmy Waybright (service personnel); and

Central office — Malynda Kopp (service personnel.

Also recognized were Pendleton County Schools staff members who retired at the end of the school year. They were Nancy Enyart (45 years), Linda Teter (30 years), Connie Bowers (three years), Tim Johnson (eight years), Trent Sites (23 years), Jimmie Bennett (25 years), Marvin Junior Wimer (eight years) and Jimmy Waybright (14 years).

Franklin Elementary School was awarded the Attendance Cup for having the highest attendance during the 2023-2024 school year.

The awards and meal for the banquet were provided by Pendleton Community Bank.
