Raymond “Ray” Roy Auville, 61, of Riverton passed away Oct. 23, 2023, as the result of a fire.

He was born on Aug. 30, 1962, in Onego, the son of the late Paul Edman and Nellie Frances (McGowan) Auville.

Mr. Auville had worked various jobs including a lift operator at Massanutten Resort, a truck driver, and a carpenter. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing.

He was a member of the Killbuck Riflemen Club, and a member of the Truth Light and Life Mission Church in Penn Laird, Virginia.

He was twice married. His first wife, Penny Ellen (Rodes) Auville, preceded him in death on May 25, 2020. He later married Patricia Ann (Vint) Auville, who survives.

In addition to his wife, he leaves behind to cherish his memory a daughter, Nellie Marie Auville of Riverton; three sons, Nathaniel Paul Auville (Rosanna) and Nevan Ray Auville, all of Elkton, Virginia, and Randy Vint (Kimberly) of Riverton; two sisters, Arlene Goldizen (Delmas) of Petersburg and Connie Propst of Timberville, Virginia; four brothers, Paul Auville Jr. (Linda) of Dry Fork, Eugene Auville (Norma) of Riverton, Rowland Auville (Diane) of Seneca Rocks and Orville Auville of Cabins; and 10 grandchildren, Dillion, Emberlynn, Annamae, Charles, Caden, Sabrina, Kevin, Randy Jr., Abigail, and Braydon.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Auville; and a sister, Nancy Louise Raines.

A celebration of life was held Tuesday at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin with Pastor Greg Adamson officiating.

Memories and words of comfort may be left at www.basagic.com or on Facebook at Basagic Funeral Home.
