Among the final miles to the State Softball Tournament site in South Charleston, Pendleton County players, coaches, and supporters drove some of the last miles there on a road originally called the James River and Kanawha Turnpike. It was built in the early 1800s and countless numbers of people trod this road on the way to make history.
It was only fitting that the Pendleton County Wildcats traveled this path to make history of their own.
