Before Friday night’s game against Petersburg, the West Virginia Secondary School Activities Commission honored Wildcat girls’ sports from the 2024-2025 school year. They honored the state champion softball team, then celebrated Pendleton County girls winning the prestigious Champions Cup. That prize is awarded to the school with the highest overall athletic excellence. In that year, volleyball, cheerleading, and basketball earned berths in the state playoffs while individuals in cross country and track also represented Pendleton County in exemplary fashion.
