To the Times,
Dear friends, those people with grandchildren and children, and just everyone who cares about children here in Pendleton County and all through West Virginia:
For 36 years I worked with families and children helping folks stay well, and also heal after illness. We have big hearts here in Pendleton and I am so thankful you allowed me to practice as a pediatrician here, and trusted me to care for your children.
This letter is for all those people who love and value children. It is from me as a father, and as a pediatrician who dispensed advice, sometimes medicine, and always vaccines to help children stay well. Over the years that I practiced, I never saw a truly adverse response to any vaccine. I certainly gave hundreds if not thousands of vaccines, including the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine in combination all at the same time.
Under the administration of a trained healthcare professional, vaccines are not only safe, they are protective and life-saving. With the respiratory illness season approaching, I strongly urge Pendletonians and all West Virginians who care for and love children to have those children vaccinated.
