Pendleton CommunityBank has announced the promotions of Sheldon Arbaugh to executive vice president and chief business development officer.
Arbaugh brings 31 years of experience with PCB to his new role. He joined the bank in 1995 and has held various positions spanning retail banking, lending, credit, market leadership and executive management. Most recently, he served as executive vice president and West Virginia Area executive, providing strategic leadership across PCB’s West Virginia markets and overseeing efforts to grow both lending and deposit relationships.
As chief business development officer, he will provide direction across West Virginia and Virginia, working with market leaders to support business growth and strengthen customer and community relationships.
“Sheldon represents the very best of community banking leadership,” said Neil Hayslett, chief executive officer of PCB. “He understands that growth begins with strong relationships with our customers, our team members, and our communities. His 31 years with PCB have given him a unique perspective on our organization and the markets we serve. His experience will be invaluable as we continue building on our foundation for the future.”
“Sheldon’s career is a great example of what it means to grow alongside a community bank,” said Jonah Pence, president of PCB. “He has developed a tremendous understanding of our customers, our markets and our people. His ability to connect strategic growth with the relationships that drive our business makes him the right leader to help move our business development efforts forward.”
Beyond his leadership at PCB, Arbaugh has a long history of service to West Virginia’s banking and education communities. He has served on the board of governors of Eastern West Virginia Community & Technical College since 2018, currently as chairperson, and on the board of trustees and as a faculty member of the West Virginia School of Banking since 2002. He has also held leadership roles with the Hardy County Chamber of Commerce and numerous community organizations.
“I’ve had the privilege of growing up professionally at PCB, and I’m honored to have the opportunity to help lead our business development efforts.” said Arbaugh. “What has remained constant throughout my career is the importance of relationships. Our customers trust us with their businesses, their families, and their futures, and our communities count on us to be there when it matters. I’m excited to build on that foundation and help PCB continue to grow while remaining true to who we are.”
