Titus Nulph, a senior at Pendleton County High School, has been named a National Merit Scholar finalist. He achieved this prestigious recognition in February.
To become a finalist, Nulph had to submit a detailed scholarship application which included his academic record, participation in school and community activities, and honors and awards that he has received. The application also required descriptions of his leadership abilities.
The 2025 National Merit Scholarship winners will be announced between April and July.
The National Merit competition is an annual academic competition among high school students nationwide. More than 1.3 million students entered the competition by taking the PSAT, with less than 1 percent of high school students qualifying to continue as semi-finalists.
