Touring Scandinavia and Iceland were, from left, Bill and Elizabeth Mitchell, Zach Propst, Donna Morgan, Lindsey Propst, Allyssa Morgan and Karen and Dwayne Propst.

At the beginning of August, a group from Pendleton County traveled to Scandinavia and Iceland for a 13-day adventure. Karen Propst, group leader, coordinated with EF GoAhead Tours to provide an amazing experience for all.

First stop was Stockholm, Sweden. The itinerary was full of opportunities to visit local sites, such as the Vasa Museum, Drottningholm Palace, and the Royal Palace in Uppsala and to explore on one’s own.

A flight took the group to Bergen, Norway, where the weather was typical, rain. Their hotel was conveniently located within walking distance of the train station and to the Harbor District. The group rode a funicular to the top of the mountain overlooking the city and also rode by train, bus, and boat to and through the fjords that had incredible scenery, experiencing the routes the Vikings took long ago.

The next flight took the travelers to the Danish capital of Copenhagen, Denmark, where they enjoyed a tour through Rosenberg Castle and visited the statue of The Little Mermaid from Hans Christian Andersen’s story.

Lastly, they traveled to Reykjavik, Iceland.  For the perfect ending to the trip, the tourists visited the Blue Lagoon Spa that is heated with geothermal energy from the nearby volcano.

So many memories from the places visited were made that they all couldn’t be described. There was an incredible group of people on this tour.

The next trip for adults only will be in November of 2027 to the country of Thailand with an optional extension to Cambodia.  Anyone interested in more information about the trip please contact Karen Propst at [email protected], by calling 304-358-2745 or going to Propst’s information link at  https://groups.goaheadtours.com/tours/tomgkaren.
