The Senior Center in Franklin earned the runner-up award in the Trout Fest overall window display category.

By Ammie Ruddle

The 2022 Trout Fest in Pendleton County provided several opportunities for local artists to display their unique talents. Two of those opportunities included the decorative wooden trout displays and the Pen Co’s Got Talent show.

For the decorative trout displays, there were two categories, the individual trout display and the overall window display. Both categories had a first place and a runner-up winner.

The first-place winner for the overall window display was the Pendleton County Public Library. The runner-up was the Senior Center.

The first-place winner for the individual trout display was Pendleton County Outdoors.

The runner-up was Pill Box Pharmacy.

Due to the lack of contestants for Pen Co’s Got Talent, the talent show was restructured into three individual performances. The performers were Bryer Moyers, 5, who sang four Hank Williams songs. He has met Hank Williams IV and thoroughly enjoys performing Hank William songs, according to materials turned into the talent show by his parents.

Elijah Ruddle, 10, created a fun beatbox number. Elijah has been performing a variety of different talents before a live audience since he was four years old.

Audrie Simmons, 10, performed a creative dance number. Audrie enjoys dancing and performing.

Even though the contest was restructured at the last moment, all three were awarded first place in their talent category (singing, beatboxing, and dancing).

Following the talent show, Kaden Robertson performed live for the audience, singing and picking his guitar.
