Lena Elizabeth Wampler Westfall, 100, of Broadway, Virginia, passed away May 30, 2024, at her residence.
She was born Jan. 21, 1924, in Timberville, Virginia, to the late Hobert and Ruth Higgs Wampler.
Mrs. Westfall worked in the housekeeping department at Rockingham Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Linville Creek Church of the Brethren in Broadway Virginia.
She loved baking pies and cakes and enjoyed gardening. She was a mother to many.
On Dec. 22, 1943, she married Walter “Bill” S. Westfall, who preceded her in death on Feb. 15, 1994.
Surviving are two sons, Billy F. Westfall of New Market, Virginia, and Wayne E. Westfall, Sr. of Rockingham, Virginia; a daughter, Carolyn A. Keister of Broadway Virginia; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; two nieces; and a nephew.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Larry A. Westfall; a brother, Earl Wampler; and a sister, Mary Katherine Frymire.
Pastors Paul Roth and Nathan Hollenberg conducted a funeral service Wednesday at Linville Creek Church of the Brethren. Burial was at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
