Josephine “Josie” Warner, 85, of Circleville passed away on April 1, 2026, at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg.
She was born on April 29, 1940, in Circleville, the daughter of the late Everett and Sylvia (Lambert) Waybright.
Mrs. Warner was a loving mother and homemaker and applied her skills in gardening and canning. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching westerns, particularly John Wayne, listening to George Straight, and collecting porcelain dolls.
On April 25, 1961, she married Laird Richard Warner, who survives.
In addition to her husband, she leaves behind to cherish her memory a daughter, Julie Martin (Alan) of Circleville; a brother, Everett “Butch” Waybright of Mt. Jackson, Virginia; three grandchildren, Amy Johnston (Sam), Rebecca Martin, and Clarence “June Bug” Martin (Lindsey); six great-grandchildren, Makayla, Laird, Isaiah, James, Aaliyah, and Israel; and two great-great-grandchildren, Addy and Jace.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Jackie Dellinger and Kitty Layman.
Funeral services were held Monday in the chapel of the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin with Pastor Curlie Ray, Jr. officiating. In honoring her wishes, her body will be cremated with inurnment in the Warner Family Cemetery.
