Jimmie Brooks Warner, 82, a resident of Pendleton Manor in Franklin for almost nine years, passed away July 21, 2023, at Pendleton Manor.
He was born Aug. 11, 1940, on Hunting Ground to the late Verlie and Ona L. (Sponaugle) Warner.
Mr. Warner retired from painting and carpentry work in 2004, and was Presbyterian by faith. He enjoyed traveling and had been to Florida, Texas, Wisconsin and Maine. He had two dogs, enjoyed deer and squirrel hunting and bowling. At Pendleton Manor, he enjoyed playing bingo regularly, reading, watching westerns, listening to country music and eating ice cream.
Surviving are two sons, Jimmie Brooks Warner II (Carrie) of Texas and Eric Brooks Warner (Amy) of Fredericksburg, Virginia; two daughters, Deborah Lynn (Warner) Brewer (Mike) of Georgia and Jamie Lynn (Warner) Sellers (Aaron) of Stafford, Virginia; 11 granddaughters; two great-grandsons; a great-granddaughter; four sisters, Mildred Reisler of Florida, Geneva Hudson of Pennsylvania, Frances Bright of Florida and Carolyn Teets (Robert) of Seneca Rocks; a brother, Kermit Warner (Nancy) of Waldorf, Maryland; two aunts, Anna Jo Sponaugle Hartman and Mary Lou Sponaugle Lambert (David) of Maryland; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by five brothers, Olin, Jearl, Johnie, Gale and Dennis; a sister, Hilda; and two wives.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin where a funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Fletcher Hutcheson officiating. Private inurnment will be at the Warner Cemetery.
