James William Malcolm, 80, of Circleville passed away on Dec. 12, 2025, at his home.
He was born on Nov. 27, 1945, in Cherry Grove, the son of the late Olin Faircloth and Hazel Bell (Arbogast) Malcolm.
Mr. Malcolm attended Circleville School and was a member of Big Run Presbyterian Church.
He had worked at Inter-State Hardwoods. He had a passion for Westerns and particularly those starring John Wayne.
He had a kind and thoughtful heart and loved helping others. His pride and joy was his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was married to Anne Hope LaBonte, the mother of his daughter, who survives in Culpeper, Virginia.
Also surviving are a daughter, Holly Ann Riley (Richard) of Culpeper, Virginia; two granddaughters, Kaitlyn Owens and Rachael Riley; a great-grandson, Joseph Rucker; a sister, Susie Seal (Brian); and two brothers, Albert Malcolm and Delbert Malcolm (Lori).
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Patsy Puffenbarger; and two brothers, Arnold and Bobby Malcolm.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Mike Lambert officiating. Interment will be in the James Malcolm Cemetery at Cherry Grove.
