Irene Davis, 84 of Cabins and formerly of Seneca Rocks passed away June 29, 2025, at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg.
She was born on Sept. 2, 1940, in Onego and was a daughter of the late Charles William Davis and Martha Ellen (Long) Davis.
Ms. Davis was employed by the Franklin Garment Factory for several years and later was a caregiver for many years.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, who loved her family deeply.
She was a faithful servant and lived a life guided by her faith. She as a devoted member of Cornerstone Family Fellowship in Petersburg. She was known for her gentleness and kindness to everyone that she met.
Surviving are two daughters, Karen Merritt (Alvin) of Cabins and Carla Berg (David) of Petersburg; two sons, Danny Lee Davis (Peggy) of Franklin and Alvin Dean Merritt of Elkins; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; two sisters, Sylvia Mallow of Red Creek and Ruby Teter of Franklin; a brother, Jerry Barkley of Onego; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Barkley Kisamore; a brother, George W. Davis; and two infant granddaughters, Heather and Heidi Davis.
Funeral services were held July 3 at Cornerstone Family Fellowship in Petersburg with Pastor P.J. Landis officiating. Interment was at a private cemetery.
