Heavner, Keyser, Kisamore Named PCM/HS Students of the Month

Katie Heavner, Katie Keyser and Callen Kisamore have been named outstanding students of the month for December at Pendleton County Middle/High School.

Heavner, a sophomore, is the Academic Student of the Month at PCHS. She resides in Upper Tract with her parents, JD and Janice, and her sisters, Lydia and Hannah. She is a member of FFA, where she holds the office of reporter. She has earned her Star Chapter Greenhand and Chapter Greenhand Degree. She is president of the Upper Tract Producers 4-H Club, where she is a member of the poultry and livestock judging teams and has competed in the West Virginia Purebred Sheep Association Contest and WV Beef Expo. She was also on the state and national WV first-place horticulture team. She is the president of the sophomore class. She is a member of the pep and travel clubs and the basketball and volleyball teams. Her plans are to attend West Virginia University and earn a bachelor’s degree in soil science. Then she plans to attend either Penn State or Ohio State University to achieve a master’s of science in agronomy.

Keyser is the December James Huffman Responsible Student of the Month at PCHS. A sophomore, she is the daughter of Trey and Kami Keyser of Upper Tract. She is a member of FFA, where she holds the office of sentinel. She is a member of the state poultry judging team and the president of the code of conduct team. She is a Greenhand Degree Recipient. She is the reporter for the Upper Tact Producers 4-H Club and a member of Mt. Hope Lutheran Church. She is the secretary for the sophomore class and is a member of the yearbook staff. She is an active member of the Mountain Show Series and a graphic designer. Her plans are to attend college and pursue a degree in agriculture as well as study graphic design. She also plans to travel the country exhibiting lambs at multiple different national shows and continue co-owning and raising lambs as Keyser Sisters Show Lambs with her little sister.

Pendleton County Middle School presents Kisamore, a seventh-grade student, as the Student of the Month for December. He is the son of Amy and Philip Kisamore. He loves to farm. His extracurricular activities include the travel club and wrestling. His plans after school are to become a farmer and/or a welder.
