Avery Townsend, one of the engines powering last year’s state title run, has not lost a step since joining the Fairmont State softball squad. In a doubleheader against Point Park University, Townsend starred in the doubleheader against Point Park University. Totals from both games include three hits in five total at bats, two walks, and three stolen bases. A true freshman, she hits .360 and has stolen 17 bases in 18 tries so far this season.
