Elizabeth Rose Alt, 62, of Petersburg passed away on March 11, 2025, at her home.

She was born on March 28, 1962, in Harrisonburg, Virginia, the daughter of the late Emory Dean and Edith Mae (Waybright) Fleisher.

Ms. Alt attended Franklin High School and was a Christian by faith.

She had previously worked at the BP Grove St. Station in Petersburg and later at Mountain State Dispatch.

In her free time, she enjoyed making crafts and baking for her family and friends. Her life was a testament to her deep love for family, her animals, and the special bonds she nurtured with those around her.

Her kindness, warmth, and devotion to her family will always be remembered. She leaves a lasting impact on everyone who knew her. Her love for her animals and the joy she found in family moments will forever be cherished in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Surviving are a son, Chadwick Alt and wife, Beth, of Morgantown; a daughter, Melissa Berg and husband, Jason, of Elm City, North Carolina; a granddaughter, Raelynn; five bonus grandchildren, Dalton, Gieni, Mark, Roman, and Greyson; a special family friend, Roger Shirk; and two brothers, Michael Waybright and Emory Fleisher, both of Franklin, WV.

A funeral service was held on Monday in the chapel of the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg with Pastor Harley Mayfield officiating. Interment was in Blue Grass Cemetery at Blue Grass, Virginia.

Memories and words of comfort may be left at www.basagic.com or on Facebook at Basagic Funeral Home.
