Deborah Ann Hanna, 76, of Brandywine passed away on Feb. 24, 2026, at the Pendleton Manor in Franklin.
She was born on May 16, 1949, in Richwood, the daughter of the late John Pershing “Purge” and Vergie Mae (Hanna) Cartwright.
Ms. Hanna had attended elementary school in Canvas, attended Summersville High School and was a 1967 graduate of Franklin High School.
She furthered her education and graduated from Charleston Beauty Academy and applied her skills, working with her mother at Vergie’s Beauty Shop.
She had also worked at Hester’s in Moorefield, CMI, and Petersburg Elementary School and as an assistant librarian.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory a daughter, Amber Hanna of Brandywine; a son, Joshua Hanna of Brandywine; a sister, Brenda Jackson of Summersville; a step-sister, Phyllis Hurt of Tennessee; a step brother, Darrell Cartwright of Summersville; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
In honoring her wishes, her body has been cremated.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
