Breitmeier

David Frederick Breitmeier, 68, of Riverton passed away on July 19, 2026, at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Virginia.

Born on July 12, 1958, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late George William and Evelyn (Reynolds) Breitmeier.

Mr. Breitmeier’s life was defined by his enduring love for family, his knowledge, kindness to those around him, and a steadfast spirit that touched many lives.

He was a jack of all trades and applied his special skills in plumbing and building. He also enjoyed playing the guitar in rock bands and storytelling. His legacy will continue to inspire all the lives that he has touched.

His passion was the outdoors, where he found joy in hiking, ginsenging, and especially fly fishing. He was an accomplished fly fisherman, and he owned and operated Elkfisher’s where he also served as a fly fishing guide. He was instrumental in the creation of WVAngler and was a member of Trout Unlimited, where he played a huge role in helping others learn from his skill.

On Feb. 16, 2015, he married Codie Nicole (Robertson) Breitmeier, who survives.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Codie Nicole Robertson Breitmeier; two daughters, Misty Mahfouz (Moda) of Wisconsin and Amy Breitmeier of Summersville; a stepdaughter, Jordyn Gibson of Riverton; a stepson, Robert Gibson of Riverton; two brothers, John Breitmeier of Hawaii and Tom Breitmeier (Lisa) of Parkersburg; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

In honoring his wishes, his body has been cremated.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.

Memories and words of comfort may be left at www.basagic.com.
