Once upon a time, in Oklahoma there was a fifth grade girl named Emma. Emma’s teacher, Mrs. Kate is a very nice teacher, but she would occasionally get super hyper and silly because she would only eat sugary foods. One day while Emma was outside at recess, the ball that she was playing with rolled into the woods. When Emma went into the woods she saw a mysterious orange jelly-like object. Not knowing what it was, Emma quickly grabbed the ball, ran out of the woods, and told herself that she imagined it.
On the way home from school, Emma saw some beautiful daisies and decided to pick them. While she was picking the flowers, one of them slipped from her hand and landed in orange jelly that looked exactly like the orange jelly she found in the woods not long ago. When the flower landed in the orange jelly, it developed a layer of what looked like a mixture of clear gelatin and crushed ice. Flustered, and not wanting to be frozen Emma ran home knowing she had to find out what the orange jelly was. That night in bed, Emma thought about the orange jelly that she saw at school and by the daisies, it didn’t look alive, so she figured they were two different blobs.
The next day, when the recess bell rang, Emma snuck into the woods instead of lining up! At that time, Mrs. Kate was in one of her sugar rush spells, so she didn’t notice Emma sneaking into the woods. When Emma got into the woods she found a trail of the mysterious orange jelly. She followed the trail through the woods. Emma was about to follow it over a hill when she heard a sound. Emma stopped, the noise, it sounded like, crying? Emma raced over the hill where she found a monster that looked like a bigger version of the orange jelly but was alive! Emma slowly walked closer to the orange monster and whispered, “Please don’t hurt me.” The monster looked up and said, “I won’t hurt you, my name is Bob, and I just want friends, that’s why I’m crying.” “Those blobs of jelly are your tears?” Emma asked. “Yes,” confirmed Bob. “Do you have any family?” questioned Emma. “My mom’s an orange jelly monster, that’s why I’m orange! My dad is an ice monster, that’s why my tears and spit freeze what they touch!” Upon seeing Emma’s scared expression, Bob said, “Don’t worry they can’t freeze you!” Emma was relieved. She said, “I’m Emma and I think I can find you some friends!”
At that moment, Mrs. Kate lost her sugar rush and noticed Emma was missing! She ran out the door pushing kids aside as she frantically searched for Emma. Just as Mrs. Kate was about to call 911, she saw Emma coming out of the woods saying, “Mrs. Kate, we have a new student.”
Bob then became part of Emma’s class and was friends with everyone.
