There was a single item on the agenda at the latest Town of Franklin council meeting.

The five council members – Kristin Dingess, Genevieve Glover, Jarred Rawson, Keely Smith and Edwin Wimer – as well as Bob Horan, mayor, and Bruce Minor, recorder, attended the Aug. 9 meeting at the town office.

The single new business item on the agenda was the approval of eight policy updates for the upcoming water project. Frank Wehrle, town manager, discussed the policies with the council members.

The eight updated policies unanimously approved by the council members were a confined space program; hazard communication program; health and safety manual; health, safety and environmental program; leak detection program; lockout and tagout program; spill prevention and response plan; and water meter replacement program.

Wehrle submitted the July financial statement for approval by the council members. The statement was unanimously approved without comment.

Elizabeth Scott, assistant business manager, updated the council members on the progress of creating a website. She said a contract has been signed with Taylor Yokum to create the website.

The council members unanimously accepted a change in the June minutes. They also unanimously accepted the minutes from the July 12 meeting without comment. The next meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Sept. 13 at the town hall.
