Senior Sponsored Meal Scheduled
Christ Central Community Church will be sponsoring an Easter lunch for seniors aged 60+ from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. April 2 at the Franklin Senior Center.
To reserve a meal, call the senior center at 304-358-2421 by 2 p.m. March 31.
Lenten Lunches Continue Today
The annual Lenten Lunches hosted by the Pendleton County Ministeral Association began at noon today at Walnut Street United Methodist Church in Franklin.
A meal, consisting of soups, sandwiches, desserts and drinks, will be served at noon. A Lenten message will be delivered at 12:30 p.m.
This week’s meal will be provided by St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. The message will be delivered by Jon Windett.
Next week’s meal will be provided by Mountaintop Ministries. The message will be delivered by Mike Loudermilk.
All donations will support the mission of the ministerial association as it seeks to serve those in need in Pendleton County.
‘Twelve Seats At Table’ To Stage at High Rock Church
High Rock Church at Seneca Rocks with the help of men from six different county churches will present “The Twelve Seats at the Table” at 7 p.m. on Maundy Thursday, April 2.
The play, inspired by da Vinci’s painting “The Last Supper,” is the story of the upper room during the last Passover meal celebrated by Jesus and His disciples before the crucifixion. Each disciple, speaking in monologue form, tells why he chose to follow Jesus and how his life has been changed by His presence. Like all men of faith, past and present, each has a different vision of the Lord’s purpose, yet, despite their doubts and fear, they are united in their devotion to the Messiah. The audience experiences the humanness of each apostle in this powerful presentation that asks, “Is one of the seats at the table for you?”
Bringing the Last Supper to life will be Mike Hamilton as narrator with Jared Bennett as Jesus, Sonny O’Neil as Thaddeus, Brad Cook as Andrew, John Verzich as Simon the Zealot, Danny Wilburn as Philip, Christopher Wilburn as Nathaniel, JD Wilkins as Simon Peter, Bruce Nelson as James, Jack Bennett as Thomas, Bill Mitchell as Matthew, Jax Bennett as James the Younger, John Ours as John and Cameron Kisamore as Judas.
The performance will be followed by communion and a reception in the church basement.
