Bethea “Beth” Fay Johnston Edmonds, 85, of Richfield, Utah, passed away March 16, 2025, at the Monroe Canyon Assisted Living Home in Monroe, Utah.

She was born Aug. 17, 1939, in Franklin the eldest child of the late Woodrow Johnston and Mary Alice Hartman Johnston.

Mrs. Edmonds graduated from Franklin High School in 1957 and subsequently spent four years working for the CIA in Washington, D.C., before its relocation to Langley, Virginia. She later moved to Logan, Utah, where she was employed by Thiokol Chemical Corporation for two years before returning to Washington, DC.

During her time in Washington, D.C., she met Roy Edmonds and the two were married July 25, 1964 in Franklin.

Over the years, she and her husband lived in Provo, Utah, Fort Collins, Colorado, and Price, Utah, before settling in Richfield, Utah, in 1976. In 1965, she began her career with the United States Forest Service in Provo, Utah, and continued her service in Richfield, Utah, until her retirement in January 2001.

As a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in many callings and developed a deep passion for family history following her retirement.

She dedicated many years as a volunteer at the Richfield Family Search Center until she was no longer able to do so. She also had a love for travel, frequently visiting her family in West Virginia and exploring other parts of the country. She particularly enjoyed going on cruises with friends, a pursuit encouraged by her husband before his passing.

Her beloved husband of 42 years, Roy William Edmonds, preceded her in death.

Surviving are three sisters, Nina Dewey, Stephanie Ashcraft and Cathy (Larry) Armentrout; a sister-in-law, Jalene Ivie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Johnston; brothers-in-law: Jerald Dewey, Judd Ashcraft and Terry Ivie; a niece; and two nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at the Magleby Mortuary Chapel in Richfield, Utah. Viewing at the mortuary will begin at noon. Interment will be in the Richfield City Cemetery.

An online guestbook is available at www.maglebymortuary.com.
