It’s that time of the year—back to school! I am excited for this new school year as each school year offers opportunities to build relationships and to continue our proud traditions as a school system. Before the buses roll and the first breakfast is served, I would like to take a moment to welcome every student, family, staff member and community partner and to share some updates.
First, I want to say that it is a privilege to serve as superintendent of our school system. Cultivating an environment where all students and staff can thrive and focusing on academic, social, and emotional health are priorities. We are fortunate to have a school system whose teachers and staff are committed to children’s learning and well-being, as well as, to have supportive and caring families, community members, and business partner.
The 2025 legislative session resulted in many new policies for education. The personal electronic device policy as well as other policies are available for review on the Pendleton County School’s web page: https://www.pendletoncountyschools.com/page/public-comment
Your input is greatly appreciated. On this same web page, you can also access the “Sharing with the Superintendent” link to provide your ideas and to spotlight great work of students and staff. As families and community members are essential partners in student growth, your input is always welcome.
“Stuff the Bus” is a Communities in Schools Coordinators’ event taking place at Pendleton County Middle/High School August 4-13. School supplies and personal hygiene items are being collected; all donations will be distributed to all four schools. Your support for our students is greatly appreciated.
Here’s to the 2025-2026 school year; may it hold ambitious goals, a strong commitment to serve one another, and an unending love for learning. I look forward to working with each of you to make this school year a great success.
