Audrey Evelene (Snyder) Lough, 89, of Upper Tract passed away Sept. 19, 2024, at Pendleton Manor in Franklin.

She was born on Jan. 21, 1935, in Maysville, the daughter of the late Lyle Brooks and Wilda (Feaster) Snyder.

Mrs. Lough was a 1952 graduate of Petersburg High School and a 1955 graduate of Rockingham Memorial Hospital School of Nursing as a registered nurse. She worked as a registered nurse and had a passion for helping deliver babies. She was deeply touched by bringing new life into the world and often shared stories about baby deliveries with the Pendleton Manor employees.

She enjoyed quilting and loved spending time with her family and friends.

Her husband, James Abraham Lough, preceded her in death in 2009.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory two sons, Jon Lough (Lou Anne) of Winchester, Virginia, and Jeff Lough (Sandra) of Upper Tract; a sister, Naomi Shipley of Inwood; two brothers, Chester Snyder (Pat) of Maysville and Don Snyder of Oakland, Maryland; and two grandchildren, Nicholas (fiancée Sarah) and Allyson (Zachary).

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Glenn and Nolan Snyder; and a sister, Mary Jane Carr.

Her family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of Pendleton Manor for their compassionate care.

A graveside service was held on Sunday at the Lough Family Cemetery in Upper Tract with Pastor William Johnson officiating. Interment followed in the family cemetery.

Memories and words of comfort may be left at www.basagic.com.
