Pendleton County High School Art Students (juniors and seniors) were asked to create a mural for the wall at the entry way at the West Virginia State Police department in Franklin. The mural was to showcase the beauty of Pendleton County, including some West Virginia specific elements, as well as the state police logo.
Eight entries were created and submitted for the state police detachment employees, as well as Pendleton County 911 Center employees, to vote their favorite. There was a tie between two of the creations, and the students were asked to combine elements of the two.
The talented group of students arrived the morning of April 21 and began sketching an outline, followed by the painting process. The students finished the beautiful creation just in time to catch the bus back to the school for dismissal.
