Alma Jean Harper, 98, of Brandywine passed away May 11, 2022, at the Pendleton Manor in Franklin.
She was born on April 18, 1924, in Brandywine, the daughter of the late Dewey Samuel and Lola Belle (Guyer) Anderson.
Mrs. Harper was a 1944 graduate of Franklin High School and she attended Madison College. She was a member of the Brandywine Christian Church. She was a farmer and retired in 1986 as a secretary from Brandywine Elementary School.
On Sept. 7, 1948, she married George Wilson Harper, who preceded her in death on June 13, 1983.
Surviving are two sons, Marshall Harper (Donna) of Brandywine and Jeffrey Harper (Ronda) of Vienna; a sister, Thelma Cooper of Franklin; three grandchildren, Carrie Jo Fox, Megan DeLancey (Cole) and Garrett Harper; and five great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Leah, Andrew, Sarah and Emryn.
She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Robyn Howard.
A funeral service was held Sunday in the chapel of the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin with Pastor Larry Danner officiating. Interment was at Pine Hill Cemetery in Brandywine.
