On Monday, the Pendleton County Sheriff’s Department shared that a deceased individual has been found in the North Mountain area along the roadway. The sheriff’s department and other agencies responded, and the FBI is also involved in the investigation at this time.
The body will be sent to the West Virginia Medical Examiner’s office for identification. Upon learning the identity of the individual, the investigation will be spearheaded by the proper jurisdiction.
Chad Bowers, Pendleton County sheriff, stated that no further details are available at this time. It remains an open investigation.
