Daisy Mae (White) Arbogast, 87, of Elkins departed this life on Oct. 12, 2025, at her home.

She was born on May 30, 1938, in Ellamore, the daughter of the late Ottis and Wilma (Mullenax) White.

Mrs. Arbogast attended Circleville High School and later obtained her GED and then acquired her bachelor’s degree from Glenville State College.

She retired from Appalachian Mental Health, serving Randolph and Pendleton counties, after 35 years of service.

She took pride in her family and enjoyed applying her skills in her life on the farm, especially sewing and canning. She loved her children and grandchildren and rewarded others with her love, by serving as a foster grandparent.

On Dec. 5, 1955, she married the love of her life, Earl Arbogast, who preceded her in death on Feb. 14, 2012.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory two daughters, Cathy Lynn Arbogast and Karen Denise Hammond, both of Elkins; a son, Douglas Earl Arbogast (Mary) of Fredericksburg, Virginia; two sisters, Alice Moyers of Bartow and Lois Alt of Old Fields; a brother, Arnold White of Sugar Grove; five grandchildren, Brian, Brett, Nicholas, Braden, and Allysun; and five great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Alfred Lemual; a granddaughter, Brooke; five brothers; and a sister.

Her family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. today at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Anita Tracy officiating. Interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin.

Memorials may be made to Operation Christmas Child, PAWS, or ASPCA.

Memories and words of comfort may be left at www.basagic.com.
