He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Carolyn Lambert of Singers Glen, Virginia, Rodney “Buddy” Wimer (Alice) of Petersburg and Charlotte Vance (Brison) of Circleville; a daughter-in-law, Wanda Wimer; grandchildren, Jody Lambert (Donna), Tonya Lambert, Bridget Riggleman (Jason), Jessica Alt (Jared), Amberly Bennett (Delmes), Shallan “Tracy” Hinkle (Brian), Deanna Fox (Andy), Adam Wimer, and Dusty Wimer; great-grandchildren, Luke and Baylee Lambert, Jayla Kite, Logan and Kyla Riggleman, Stacie and Levi Bennett, Madison and Jada Alt, Tristan and Dallas Hinkle, Mahayla and Danny Kilgore, Makayla and Greyson Wimer, and Summer Wimer; and three great-great-grandchildren, Autumn and Eli Satterfield, and Hadley Hinkle.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Gary Wayne Wimer; six brothers, Marvin, Philip, Martin, Walter, Ocie, and Arlie Wimer; three sisters, Alice Wimer, Lucy Bennett and Regana Arbaugh; a half sister, Sallie Greathouse; and a son-in-law, Varley Lambert, Jr.
